Meet Our Authors

Inclusive World NZ shares stories and resources created to help children understand disability, inclusion, kindness and belonging.

Stories shaped by purpose

The authors connected with Inclusive World NZ share a common goal: to create stories and learning resources that help children see disability, difference and inclusion in positive ways.

Our work focuses on child-friendly language, meaningful messages and resources that families, schools and communities can use to support understanding and belonging.

What our authors help create

Accessible formats

Flipbooks, audiobooks and digital resources that make stories easier to share and enjoy in different ways.

Why inclusive storytelling matters

Children learn a great deal from the stories they hear, read and see. When disability is included naturally within stories and learning resources, it helps children understand that difference is part of everyday life.

Inclusive storytelling can help reduce stigma, encourage empathy and create space for children to ask questions in safe and positive ways.

Created for families, schools and communities

Our resources are designed for real-world use. They can support parents, caregivers, teachers, support workers, community groups and anyone who wants to help children learn about inclusion.

Some resources are free to download, while others help support the ongoing work of Children with Disability NZ.

Helping children see that everyone belongs

Inclusive World NZ is part of the Children with Disability NZ network. Our authors and resource creators help support a wider mission of making disability, inclusion and belonging more visible in everyday learning.

Every story has the potential to open a conversation, change a perspective and help a child understand the value of inclusion.
